Th is melodious lo-fi troubadour has consistently created skewed pop gems from untidy bedrooms from his early drum box and acoustic experiments as the bard of Buckinghamshire through to various gutter-star line up's in his adopted home of Berlin. One of a small roster of artists released on Billy Bragg's Utility Records, he has been an enduring champion of DIY releases both audio and literary (including a book of conversations with Kevin Coyne). He continues to write, record and gig around Europe, solo, fronting trashy ensembles and as a member of the Anglo German Low Stars collective.
A few decades back Mr. Product wrote "I still believe in DIY, I still believe in home-made music. I sill believe in cheap guitar strings, they sound just as good on a cheap guitar". These words have stood as manifesto and statement of intent as well as rallying call to many who have taken a light off the torch along the way. In an average Product set you will hear the influence of high plains country, lovelorn blues, Glam-bluster and trash-pop 'n' roll all delivered in inimitable sly-winked style. Champion to the disaffected, the eternal outsider and the perpetual under-dog, an artist of wit, melancholy and irrepressible charm.
