Straight out'a Blue Ridge, GA comes Illbilly stalwart Cooterfinger, aka James Richard Oliver mixin' up surf from the grave, grooves from the garage, sister huggin' hillbilly stompin' and his wry observations on the perpetual lie that is true American romance. Like a perpetual barfly bemoanin' life's crock a' shit kicks to the gut whilst his li'l lady goes off dancin' with the local rednecks and the jukebox plays another voodoo boogie toon - "stick a nickle in there an' set 'em up again".

As a young man Mr J. R Oliver saw the warped R 'n' R light whilst witnessing The Cramps back in the day from where he went on to attack the guitar with legendary alcoholic Punk 'n' Rollers The Boonies. He later founded and continues to run the wonderful Illbilly Records (link) releasing skewed and rough-hewn gems from the outer 'burbs of Country, Trash and Rock 'n' Roll. Dropped on The Head Volume's 1 & 2 are essential soundtracks to any inhabitant of Weirdsville. Cooterfinger is the result of James's on-going experiments with pure grain alcohol - a truly heroic mission through the sonically deranged underworld towards his inevitable psychotic reaction!
